Thoughts on the Playstation 4

As of this writing, you can’t even pre order Playstation 4 let alone a release date being announced. Even still, after 3 generations of Playstation consoles and ever changing and growing technological advances, it’s pretty much inevitable that the Playstation 4 will be released. When it is released, it will have major breakthroughs in console gaming that the previous versions of Playstations have provided. Will it have a Blu-ray drive or will downloadable movies be all the rage? Will it use the coming 3D technology that is expected to revolutionize television, movies, and video games? What will Sony put into the PS4 to compete with the incredibly popular Nintendo Wii motion sensing remote, Wii gun or Microsoft’s Project Natal which can sense and track and full body motion? These are things that are currently revolutionizing gaming and Sony will need to step up strong with the PS4 and offer something that is unique but that is appealing to all types of consumers.
The main thing that I am excited about regarding the PS4 is the type of games that will be coming out. If it does feature a motion tracking device, what types of games will they come out with that are unique since other consoles will have had a step ahead of them. Will playing Madden 2014 in 3D be amazing? These are things that we can simply speculate on until details for the PS4 are released.
Some of the Playstation 4 games that I am hoping they come out with are simply sequels to games that have been popular in the Playstation lineage. Gran Turismo has continued to be one of the top racing games ever, and I really hope that they make a version for the PS4. The next Assassins Creed would also be a fun game. Grand Theft Auto usually has a game or two on the new consoles, so I am excited for that series also.
These are all just musing and thoughts on things that could or may be in the Playstation 4. Until it is released though, we’ll never know and it’s anyone’s guess about what the PS4 will feature to blow us all away.
